Croisement interspécifique complexe entre la diana (sylvaner x Müller-Thurgau) et le chambourcin obtenu en Allemagne en 1967 par Gerhardt Alleweldt. On peut le rencontrer au Québec (Canada), en Belgique, en Suisse, ... peu connu en France. A noter que le Regent, variété monogénique, donnée pourtant comme résistante à certaines maladies cryptogamiques, a été "contourné" en 2010 par une souche de mildiou moins résistante, ce qui a été également le cas pour la bianca.
